A thin coating of resin is applied. This protective coat fills the fissures and pin holes to get an improved color and glaze. This also reduces the porosity and increases the durability of the material.
Granite slabs and tiles are ground to get a smooth and even surface. Depending on the buyer's requirements, they are now Honed finished. It is a satin smooth finish with lower light reflecting surface and lesser glaze. It is used where the traffic or the foot-falls are very high.
After sawing, the rough granite slabs and tiles are washed thoroughly with water jet equipments to remove any slurry glued to them while sawing.
Polishing is done to get a glossy finish. It enhances the color and texture of the material.
Rough granite slabs are treated with a high temperature gas welding flame. This creates an uneven and non slippery surface. Flamed finish is a rough textured surface used especially in floor tiles or wet areas to prevent slipping.
The slabs are then polished with the help of brushes with metallic wires. This process removes the sharp mounds created while flaming and smoothens the surface to get a leather finish.
Wooden crates, boxes and slabs are loaded with the help of cranes to ensure proper loading.
Material is packed in wooden crates and boxes. Polythene or foam is used when two polished faces are put together. Thermocol sheets are also used in packing of granite tiles to prevent any breakage. Loose packing is also done when required.
